Absolute Poker Sanctioned by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission

Jan 24th 2008

I believe no one forgot the Absolute Poker matter – in which the online poker site was under the investigations of the Kahnawake Gaming Commission regarding complaints of cheating.

Recently, Absolute Poker recognized in a press release the “completeness and accuracy of the KGC conclusions”. Also, the online poker site declared that they will accept without reservation the Kahnawake Gaming Commission's findings and sanctions for which they waited for more than two months.

In their statement, Absolute Poker implied that their biggest concern is to bring this distressing and regrettable incident for the Company, its staff, and its patrons to an end.

The statement's final words repeat that sense of relief, closing that, "while Absolute Poker is paying a severe sentence for the fraud committed upon the Company and its patrons, we are grateful that we can now close the book on this distasteful situation."

The online poker site will now focus in creating a more secure website and as they declared, they see the investigations as an opportunity to advance their internal practices. The steps made towards a more secure website include improved controls and additional safeguards in order to prevent future breaches.
