From a tennis career to a poker professional

David Benyamine

David Benyamine is a former athlete that had to end his tennis career due to an injury. But he didn't do what others former athletes would do, that is to talk about their former glory and what if. David chose to play other less physically demanding sports and he was very good at them. He started with billiards, and he was winning most of the times.

Then he decided to play poker and observed that he had a natural talent at poker too. He was familiar with the game; he played it since he was 12 but only for fun. Only recently he started playing in high stakes games and tournaments.

He managed to enter the final table at two World Poker Tour tournaments and to win in 2003 the Grand Prix de Paris. In 2006 on top of the money he has made, he won the respect of Doyle Brunson who says he admires him for the way he plays the game, just like he did when he was young.
