Pokemon for the Advanced

David Williams

David Williams is one of the most famous poker players in the world even if he hasn't managed to win a tournament yet. In 2004 he finished on the second place. He can say that he has already made a few millions from poker.

Pokemon for the Advanced is how he considers his childhood card game: "Magic: The Gathering", a game he still loves for the complexity and the difficulty it provides. That game brought him the first acquaintance with the cards, before playing poker in Dallas underground card rooms. David was very good at Magic the gathering he went into more than 35 countries to participate in tournaments and he managed to make some money from them.

He went to Princeton for a while, but did not liked it there so he returned home, but now he studies in Dallas at Southern Methodist University, and he will soon graduate with a degree in economics and a minor in math.

David won his ticket to the 2004 WSOP through an online satellite tournament just like the winner of that edition, Greg Raymer, did. David was participating for the first time at a major tournament and he managed to make it to the final table where he lost towards Raymer.

Dave won 3.5 million dollars and Raymer won 5 million dollars. Dave says he would have done anything to win, even exchange the first prize with the second one, if he would have won.

Now Dave is recognized on the streets since he won the money. He is approached by strangers that start to talk to him, like one time when a lady offered to introduce his daughter to him. He is just 24, and things are just starting to get crazy.
