Poker Players Articles - Doug Kim

Doug Kim

Most of the poker players that compete in major tournaments such as WSOP are sports middle aged, meaning they are around 22 years old. 20 years ago, such a thing was unheard of and 10 years ago was strange.

At the 37th annual World Series of Poker almost each seat was taken by these young players and one of them was Doug Kim, a recent Duke University graduate. He had a degree in economics but he used it to calculate odds, and possibilities that would help him win the first place and in the same time the $12 millions prize.

During the tournament he made some mistakes, but he managed to finish the game on the 7th place, at a competition in which 8700 players participated. That seven place brought him $2 millions. Kim is from Yonkers, NY but now we are sure he will be spending more and more time in Las Vegas to play the game.
