Dutch Boyd - A Bad Dealer but a Good Gambler

Dutch Boyd

Most online poker players would tell about Russ "Dutch" Boyd that he is a robber and that he stole lots of money from different people. The truth is Boys never stole anything from no one, in fact other stole from him.

The Boy Wonder

Russ says that he and his brother were very smart when they were young; they started reading when they were 2 and 3 years old. Russ skipped a couple of classes when he was 11 and he was only 13 when he graduated with his Associates degree. His IQ was around 150, and he always wanted to be a lawyer. Until he saw the movie "Rounders" and he identified with one of the characters, who was in the same situation like him.

He borrowed from the library "Thursday Night Poker" by Peter Steiner; he read it and immediately started playing the game online.

A Bad Dealer but a Good Gambler

He became a poker player and he first played for fun then for real money. When he was 18 he decided to make his own poker site, but a poker site different than the rest of the "slow and clumsy" sites. They did it and they named it pokerspot.com.

After a while they started operating the site, they were ripped off by the company that was processing all of their credit card deposits. More than 1000 persons had real money deposits and there were more than 8500 players registered. They couldn't pay their clients back so they lost their customers support.

New Accomplishments

After that Boys decided not to quit and still play poker, and in the 2003 WSOP he was in the top 12. He is a very interesting player because he plays a very aggressive style. Now he plans on creating another poker website which could help him pay the money he owns, and make a profit for himself. Many are skeptical about his plans, but who knows...we will see what will happen.
