Julian Gardner tried to do what his father did, and that was to be a professional cards player. In this situation, many children that try to become successful in what their parents were, fail, but Julian didn't became successful right away.
Julian started his poker career when he was 15, when he went with his father in casinos, and by the time he was 20 he already had won 10 tournaments. At the World Series of Poker Main Event in 2000 he drew attention with the fact that he became the chip leader, but he couldn't use that position to win or even finish in a money place.
In 2002 he set a record, the youngest player to win over 1 million dollars at a WSOP tournament, when he finished it on the second place. Then at the 2003 and 2004 WSOP events he finished in the money.
Julian doesn't travel too often to tournaments from Manchester, England, his home city, he does so only if he has won the online qualification. He is engaged to Kerry "Pint Size" Clarke, also a poker player and he hopes that their children will also inherit their poker genes.
