
Kosta "Gus" Sengos wears a big ring and a smile; he smiles because he recently won $230,000 dollars and a trip to the WSOP. He also won on top of the money the ring at the Horseshoe Casino in Council Bluffs, Iowa at a Circuit event.
He has managed to earn a spot to the WSOP, which the Sioux Falls, South Dakota man always dreamed of. His hopes from the tournament are to turn him into a millionaire, because he wants it all.
In January 2007 he won a local poker tournament, at the Council Bluffs, in the same time winning the most money sine he started playing poker: $219,576 and the $10,000 entry fee to the WSOP.
His parents are Andy and Aphrodite Sengos, his father owns "Nick's Gyros", the popular restaurant and there used to work the 23 years old poker player. He first played Texas Holdem while he was at college at the University of South Dakota, playing the game with his friends.
Pro's Sports Bar in Vermillion, South Dakota is the place where Sengos started his professional career, and after watching many ESPN poker tournaments with his friends now he has the chance to win one of them.
At the Council Bluffs event Sengos played against well known poker players such as: Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, T.J. Cloutier and Phil Gordon, and he says that the fact they were millionaires and he was just a regular person was kind of stressing, but in the end he managed to beat them using his abilities of reading facial expressions, behaviors, understanding the betting patterns, and using a passive style of play.
