Mike Matusow is considered the best Omaha player in the world, currently having two WSOP bracelets. People discuss about him, but not because of his skills in gambling.

His start in poker wasn't special, and there wasn't special abut him neither. At first Matusow was a dealer, and then he switched jobs to professional poker player. His first golden bracelet was won in a No-Limit Hold'em event in 1999. Then in 2002 he won the first Omaha Hi-Lo Split tournament. So far so good, but starting with 2004...
The Mouth
At the 2004 WSOP tournament Matusow was playing against Greg Raymer. Raymer had AQ, and Matusow had AK, but Raymer got lucky and won at the river. The Matusow burst and hit the ceiling shouting and saying "I have the biggest balls in No-Limit Hold'em in the world". Mike apologized but Raymer didn't accept his apologies.
That's why he received the nickname The Mouth. Daniel Negreanu, who is friend with him, says that he can't control his feelings, but others say he acts like a 14 year old boy when something upsets him and that he is just rude.
Bad Side of Poker
Matusow is accused by many to ruin the image of poker not just because of the upper mentioned incident but also because Matusow was accused for drug trafficking, conspiracy, and import, but he managed to make an agreement with the court and he will face only 6 months.
