Poker player - Phil Ivey

Phil Ivey

Phil Ivey is not 30 yet, but everybody sees a bright future ahead of him. Most predict he will win a WSOP tournament, is just a matter of time. Ivey played the game more than ten years, and he first played in casinos at the age of 17 using a fake ID. His ID name was Jerome Graham, and when he turned 21 he went in the Tropicana casino and introduced himself to the shift manager by his real name.

He was 23 when he won is first World Series of Poker. Then at 25, in 2002 he won 3 tournament bracelets, setting a record. Even so, Phil knows he is not a perfect poker player and works to improve his game all the time.

Phil lives with his wife Luciaetta in Las Vegas and plays poker on a regular basis. He says his wife helps him with everything he can't do and that is a major thing for him. He knows he wouldn't have had this success if it weren't for her.

He says he has to stay fit, because the game is exhausting especially if you play for more than 20 hours. He once played 50 straight hours. He doesn't like to be a celebrity and says he hears once in a while people say Look! It's Phil Ivey, when he passes them by. That is strange for him.
