Rafi Amit is one of those players that have won the golden bracelet at WSO tournaments, but not on the main event, yet still they are champions. Amit won in 2005 the Limit Omaha event at the WSOP. This tournament may have not been as glamorous as the main event with all those cameras and all the high stakes, but still the games are very impressive.
Amit is well knows for the incident at the final table, where he used the f-word and got a 10 minutes penalty. He still continued to disturb his opponents from the "sidelines" by trash talking. In those ten minutes Amit lost $200,000, but eventually managed to win 511, 835, by winning the game.
That was Amit's first final table in his career (3 years). He currently lives in Israel, in Holon and he hasn't won a major event since the 2005 WSOP. He has a great chance to win at the 2006 tournament as long as he keeps his cool and behaves at the table.
