Ted Forrest knows what it takes to become a successful Limit Hold'em player. Jesse May says he first considered Ted Forrest a freak because of his playing style.
He plays every hand
This is his playing style, he plays every hand and he managed to become one of the best Limit Hold'em players. His behavior at the table is very confusing, but with that behavior he manages to win most of the times. When he first started in the 90's nobody believed that a guy who plays each hand, just like a beginner would can have success. His success is not just because of the way he acts at the table, but also because of his ability to read his opponents. He knows every time they bluff.
Currently Forrest resides in Las Vegas and he makes a living through poker. He does not participate in grand tournaments. He managed in 1993 to win three gold bracelets at the World Series of Poker, something just him and Phil Ivey (in 2002) and Phil Hellmut (in 1993) managed to do. The wins in 1993 were at the even Card Stud, Omaha Hi-Lo and Razz events. In 2004 he managed again two win two events, this time at the Seven Card Stud and No Limit Hold'em.
The Rumors
Many rumors can be heard about this player, like once he received $7000 from a bet, because he ran in a Las Vegas marathon, during one of the hottest days of the year. These types of rumors don't affect him, he continues to play the game and be good at it.
